 Children and Youth with Asperger Syndrome: Strategies for Success in Inclusive Settings Intended for general classroom teachers in inclusive settings, this project address instructional and classroom strategies for working with students with Asperger Syndrome. AS is a disorder in the autism spectrum, and students with AS suffer from similar, though milder, symptoms as students with autism. It is often considered a social disability, though one of its most notable differences with autism is that most students with AS do develop verbal language skills. This book presents research-based instructional, behavioral, and environmental strategies for teachers, including technology accommodations, transition planning, and tips for working with student services personnel. Included are several checklists and over 50 classroom strategies. This will be the first book on the market presenting AS instructional strategies for the inclusive classroom.
